Our Long Drink Glass is a masterpiece from a glassblowing workshop nestled in the Jalisco region of Western Mexico. The facility championed by Doña Josefina, is at the forefront of integrating socially disadvantaged individuals back into the workforce by offering them permanent jobs and providing a prestigious training ground for young aspiring glassblowers. The raw material used in the creation of these glasses is 100% recycled glass, showcasing our commitment to environmental sustainability.
The advantages of using recycled glass are manifold:
- It consumes less energy to recycle glass than to produce new glass because recycled glass melts at lower temperatures.
- Glass can be recycled indefinitely without any loss in quality.
- Recycling glass conserves natural resources such as quartz sand, soda, and lime, and significantly reduces environmental pollution that would otherwise be generated during the manufacturing process.
